Volunteer Roles
Whether you give two hours a month or twenty, your contribution directly reaches people who need it most.
Community Counsellor
Provide one-on-one counselling sessions under clinical supervision. Ideal for counselling psychology, social work, and nursing students.
4+ hrs/week, 3+ months
Enrolled in accredited program. ECRC required.
MHFA Facilitator
Facilitate the community Mental Health First Aid training program — 2-day workshops. Training provided.
Quarterly — 2 days/workshop
Completion of MHFA instructor training (funded).
Peer Support Facilitator
Co-facilitate the Men's Wellness Circle, Sisters Circle, or Youth programs. Full training provided.
Monthly — 3 hrs/session
Lived experience of immigration/diaspora.
Navigator Volunteer
Help newcomers and refugees navigate Calgary's mental health system. Accompany clients to appointments.
4–8 hours/month
Bilingual preferred. Driver's licence asset.
Administrative Volunteer
Support operations — grant writing, social media, event coordination, translation, bookkeeping.
Flexible 4–10 hrs/month
Skills-based. Any background welcome.
Board Director
Join the Board of Directors — governing the organisation, reviewing financials, ensuring mission alignment.
Quarterly meetings + committee
Application and interview required.

Practicum & Internship Placements
Swyft Cares Foundation is an approved practicum placement site. Students gain direct experience providing culturally competent mental health support under licensed clinical supervision.
